Data controller
The data controller is ADS Advisors FZCO, Silicon Oasis, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Contact for privacy matters: adasilva@angeldasilva.com.
What data is collected
Contact form. If you send a message, I receive the details you enter: full name, organization, role, work email, organization type, topic, your message, and your confirmation that you have read this policy.
Technical data. Our hosting and security providers process technical data such as IP address and browser information to deliver the site and protect the contact form from abuse.
Analytics. I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and see referring sites. It is designed to work without cookies and without tracking individual visitors across sites.
Newsletter. This site does not collect email addresses and has no mailing list. The Investor Letter is announced through my LinkedIn newsletter. If you subscribe there, LinkedIn processes your data under its own privacy policy.
Purposes and legal bases
- To read and reply to your message, and to take steps you request before an engagement: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) and pre-contractual steps (Article 6(1)(b)).
- To keep the site and form secure and free of spam: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)).
- To understand which pages are read and where visitors come from, in aggregate: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)).
Recipients and processors
I do not sell personal data. I use these providers, which process data on my behalf:
- Netlify, Inc. - website hosting, serverless function and form storage.
- Cloudflare, Inc. - Turnstile spam protection on the contact form and Web Analytics.
- Email provider - Hostinger, which receives the notification of your message at adasilva@angeldasilva.com.
Retention
I keep the details you send through the contact form for 36 months, and then delete them.
International transfers
My providers may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where this happens, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data I hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- restrict processing in certain cases;
- receive your data in a portable format.
How to exercise your rights
Write to adasilva@angeldasilva.com. I may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Right to complain
You can complain to the supervisory authority. In Ireland this is the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie). You may also complain to the authority in your own country.
Changes
I may update this policy. The version published on this page applies.
